It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stella Hubbell, a 91-year-old seasonal resident of Balsam, who passed away on Tuesday, April 21, in Largo, FL, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Hubbell had been a part of the Balsam community since 2011, residing on Summit Rd (off Old Dummy Line Rd). As her son-in-law Cliff Blum so eloquently stated, “our family’s collective heart belongs to the community, and we hope to carry her love for the mountains and our NC community for generations to come.”
